| Pierre de Clausade |
|
| was born in Paris on the 15th April 1910.He did not begin
painting as a profession until he was in his thirties. Although he had little
confidence in his work, he had his first exhibition in Paris in 1943,which was
a phenomenal success.He exhibited regularly at the Societe des Beaux Arts,and
became a member of the Salon d'Hiver.De Clausade has exhibited all over the
world,his paintings have entered many distinguished collections,including that
of the Brazilian Ambassador and the Boston and Minneapolis Museums of Fine
Art.He was also awarded the great honour of the Medaille d'Argent of the Paris
Salon in 1953.He died in 1975,leaving a legacy of a dramatic and individual
artist whose style was truly original. |
