| Vallin was born in Novara,Italy in 1921.Vallin is the brush
name of the artist Hugo Golli who,as a young man,showed great interest and had
natural talent in all aspects of art. Initially he received tuition from Daleza
and later,after his family had settled in Paris he resumed his studies of
sculpture and painting under Richard,eventually returning to complete his
tuition at The Florence Acedemy of Fine Arts. A highly individual artist,Vallin
has earned his reputation through successful exhibitions in Europe and
Britain,and since his retirement he has seen the value of his works rise
dramatically.Always favouring the unusual canals and unused backwaters of
Venice,it was his ability in depicting the shimmering heat or the first
coolness of evening,the varied textures of the architecture against the
smoothness of the waters that captured the imagination.His appealing and
atmospheric works are in greater demand than ever due to their inclusion in
International Auctions where competition between buyers have driven prices
upwards.This signals that this talented painter is now considered a leader in
the field of Venetian painting……along with his contemporary of the
time Noel Bouvard,with whom he was tutored by Marc Aldine(Antoine Bouvard)
another eminent painter of Venice. |
